In the early days of fabric technology (yup, that’s a thing), synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon were taking over the market thanks to their long list of benefits. They were cheaper, easier to maintain and best of all: wrinkle-free!

The problem with synthetics was that the fabric wasn’t breathable, which led to - ahem - awkward wet spots for our more active friends. Eventually, innovative ways of chemically processing cotton fibers gave way to some alternatives to synthetics. However, these could never live up to the comfort of unadulterated 100% cotton.

Who would have thought that you could not only make 100% cotton wrinkle-free, but have the fabric actually feel like it, too? That’s been the greatest struggle for researchers over the last decades and thankfully this is a challenge they were able to finally overcome. Now I know you’ve probably tried wrinkle-free shirts in the past and are thinking “ew”, because these weren’t so comfortable, but let me lay all my cards on the table for a second:

It’s just as soft as cotton

That’s right! It might sound hard to believe but a new process was created that allows the fiber to keep its distinct texture and softness, and resist to wrinkles. You don’t have to choose one over the other, anymore. Say goodbye to stiff, resinous fabric!

It won’t break the bank

You may think surely if it’s that good, it must also cost an arm and a leg? Well that’s where you’re wrong. The process is relatively simple so it doesn’t add too much additional expense. In any case, isn’t that little extra worth all the time you’d otherwise be wasting at the ironing board? Thought so.

It’s just as easy to maintain

This fabric doesn’t need to be dry cleaned or washed by hand. Just pop it into your washing machine like you would any normal cotton dress shirt and hang it up to dry.

The greatest thing about this wrinkle-free fabric is that it even stands up to those pesky “sitting at your desk all day” wrinkles.
